Filed under: Microsoft Office 2007, Tech Questions & Answers — cortlandttc @ 4:21 pm

To add the Anova Data Analysis function to Excel 2007, start by opening Excel and clicking on the Office button at the top left of the screen. At the bottom of the drop down menu, click on the’ Excel Options’ button.

The Excel Options window will open. In the column on the left, click on the Add-Ins heading. On the right side of the window, scroll down to Inactive Application Add-Ins and click on ‘Analysis ToolPak’ to select it. Then click the Go Button.

An ‘Add-Ins’ window will open. Click in the checkbox next to ‘Analysis ToolPak’ and click the OK button. Another window may open that says Excel can’t run the add-in until you install the feature. Click Yes.

The Microsoft Office Configuration window will launch. This can take a minute or two to configure. When it is finished, click on the Data tab and the Anova Data Anaylsis function will appear in the Anaylsis group on the right side of the ribbon.

Guide to Using USB Drives at SUNY Cortland

Filed under: Tech Questions & Answers, Uncategorized — cortlandttc @ 12:04 pm

On the Information Resources Website, there is link to a PDF guide to Using USB Drives at SUNY Cortland

You should review this guide BEFORE you purchase one. Please note, we are starting to see users having problems using their usb drives on the campus computers because certain brands of usb drives require drivers or backup programs to be installed on Windows computers. (Macs will ignore the software and do not experience this problem). That means they will not work on the authenticated machines on campus.  Keep this in mind before you make your purchase.

Also, you should be aware that users have 200 MB of storage space on the network, which they can access from any computer on campus. Just log in using your network id, then open ‘my computer’. The ‘Username on Shares: U:’ drive is listed here
